We were thrilled to host an incredible Evening with Galway GAA Stars & Legends this past Saturday. The event took place at the award-winning Claddagh Ring Pub & Restaurant in Hendon.
This special night supported our Win a Home on Galway Bay fundraiser. The energy in the room was a fantastic reminder of why we’re doing this. As we get closer to March, we can’t wait to hand over the keys! One lucky winner will soon own a magnificent new property in the stunning village of Kinvara.
In attendance was the Galway Association London, led by President Seamus O’Grady, alongside chairperson Brendie Brien and other members of the board. Galway GAA was represented by Paul Bellew (Chairperson), Sean O’Connor (Operations & Finance Manager), and Seamus Hogan (Assistant Treasurer), plus members of the “Win a Home” project team. Also present was Galway Person of the Year, Noreen O’Hara, who is a native of Peterswell.
Broadcaster Jonathan Higgins (Galway Bay FM, Newstalk, and Virgin Media TV) served as MC. The first segment featured Finbar Holian (Owner, The Claddagh Ring), former Galway footballer and ex-Mayor of Galway Eddie Hoare, and Paul Bellew. They were followed by interviews with Brendie Brien and Seamus O’Grady.
The final part of the evening included a panel chat with Pádraic Joyce (Galway Senior Football Manager) and Micheál Donoghue (Galway Senior Hurling Manager). Both spoke about their respective teams, the new season, and upcoming fixtures.
The event also included a special gift presentation from Paul Bellew to Finbar, Brendie, and Seamus. The night concluded with the Galway Association London presenting a cheque for €10,000 to Galway GAA.
